Cookies and other monitoring technologies may be used on our websites and applications in a variety of ways, such as to make the website www.explorepico.com work, analyze traffic, or for advertising purposes. These technologies are used directly by us or our business partners, including service providers and third parties with whom we work. If you want to know more about cookies, how they are used, and what your preferences are, please read more here.
What are cookies? A cookie is a small amount of data that a website hosts in the browser of your computer or mobile device. So-called “primary cookies” are associated with the entity that operates the domain where the cookie is hosted. The cookies at www.explorepico.com are, according to this explanation, primary cookies. If we allow other cookies on the www.explorepico.com websites and applications, they will be called third-party cookies. Also, there is a difference between session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies only exist as long as your browser is open. Persistent cookies have a longer duration and are not automatically deleted when you close your browser. We strive to ensure that our third-party cookies or cookies have a maximum duration of 5 years. Longer durations are only considered in exceptional circumstances, such as safety issues and in case of absolute necessity. In addition to cookies, other similar monitoring technologies are used. They can include web beacons (also known as pixel tags, web bugs, or gifs), monitoring URLs, or software development kits (SDKs). A web beacon is a small, one-pixel graphic image that can be sent to your computer as part of a web page request, in an application, in an advertisement, or as an HTML email. Pixels can be used to gather information from your device, such as the device type or operating system, IP address, and the time of your visit. They are also used to include and read cookies in your browser. Monitoring URLs are used to understand from which websites and applications from Booking.com are used. SDKs are small pieces of code that are included in applications and work like cookies and web beacons. All of these technologies together are called in this Cookies Statement as “cookies.”
