Founded by Alzira and Conceição Neves in 1986, the Regional Crafts School in Santo Amaro teaches, promotes, and revitalizes traditional crafts in various areas.
The workshop, housed in a rustic 19th-century house, also has a shop that remains open to visitors interested in learning and purchasing unique artisanal products. These include the distinctive Mato Labregas dolls, dragon tree hats, and straw jewelry created by the twin artisans.
In 2014, they were honored with the CoMtradição Award, an Azorean Craftsmanship Prize established by the Regional Centre for Craft Support.
Products made from fish scales certified by the Crafts of the Azores brand.
