Climbing Pico Mountain
Pico Mountain, at 2351 metres, is Portugal’s highest point. Its ascent can be done all throughout the year and by people with determination and physical endurance for a very steep route with a level difference of 1150 meters. The route can be completed on your own, but it is recommended to be accompanied by a local guide, who will not only increase your safety but will also help you better understand the geological evolution and the local ecosystem. Before beginning the climb, you must register at Casa da Montanha.
